Most of my professional software engineering career has been spent in games; I worked briefly in a web company right out of college using PHP, but it's been a long time since then so I've had a lot of catching up to do. Fortunately, Python has lots of good options so I've been able to at least learn in a language I'm fairly familiar with.
Unfortunately, I'm still pretty shaky on a lot of frontend fundamentals, including pretty much any JavaScript, so I'm trying to shore that up since I know it's currently a pretty big blindspot. And I'm hoping that learning JavaScript for frontend stuff can lead into learning it on the server side as well so I can start looking at all the fullstack jobs I seem to see running around.
